Target Acquisition Radar P-15 ”Flat Face”
The P-15 detects low-flying targets, and was used to do so with the S-125 missile system. The two antennas can be used to form an overlapping arch of radar beams, thus eliminating blind spots from further away in the radar screen. Of interesting note is the location of the radar antennas just 30-40cm above the operators heads. This design feature would not pass health and radiation safety regulations in the modern world.
Range: 200 km
Altitude:
0–6 km
A mast-mounted antenna increases low detection capability.
The radar can be used alone or in combination with the P-18.
Weight of the radar vehicle: 9000 kg
In service in Finland from 1980 to 2000
