ZU-57-2 / 23 ItK 61 ”Sergei”
ZU-23-2, also known as the 23 ItK 61 ”Sergei” is a light 23mm AA-gun equipped with a mechanical predictor, made in the USSR. First guns of the type were acquired in the late 1960s to replace 20mm AA guns from World War 2. Additional ex-East German guns and accessories were bought from the German agency Treuhandanstalt in the early 1990s. The gun remains in use by the FDF.
A modernized version of the gun was produced in Finland, known as the 23ItK/95. It was modernized by Patria Vammas Oy (current Patria Oyj) and Instrumentointi Oy (current Insta Group Oy). Modernization includes motorized aiming system, laser rangefinder, thermal camera and an Infra-red sight and target illumination system. A picture of the modernized gun can be seen in the SalpItPsto/KarPr / 1990s. display booth.
