Name: Fugasnaja Avia Bomba = high-explosive aerial bomb
Length: 357.2 cm; length of the tail section 133 cm, of which 95 cm outside the body of the bomb.
Diameter: 50 cm, tail 67 cm
Casing thickness: 1.3 cm (13 mm) body
Weight: 1042 kg
Warhead weight: 476 kg, or 46% of the total weight (486 kg, according to some Russian sources)
Fuze: Point and base fuze, model APUW
Final velocity (dropped from 3000 m): 268 m/s
(in comparison: 300 m/s for a 9 mm pistol bullet)
Dropped on at least the following locations in February 1944:
6–7 February 1944
Lönnrotinkatu 33-35; probably two 1000 kg bombs and a few 250 kg bombs
one bomb was dropped on Kuortaneenkatu
26–27 February 1944
Ratakatu 7-9-11; tail section was found; however, may be a FAB-2000 (a 2000 kg demolition bomb)

ADD’s plane types suitable for carrying the bomb:
IL-4: 1 x FAB-1000 under the fuselage and 10 x FAB-50 in bomb bays
DB-3F, DB-3M and DB-3b: 1 x FAB-1000 under the fuselage and 10 x FAB-50 in bomb bays
PE-8: 4 x FAB-1000 kg
In medium-hard soil, the bomb leaves a crater which is 4–5 metres deep and 15–20 metres wide.
